Type faces

Type faces and fonts

This week I have looked at different fonts and type faces. The fonts that I looked at in detail were; Roman (Serif), San Serif, Script, Monospeed, blackletter and Mimicry.

Roman (Serif)

Roman Serif. I think would be at great font for using on my brand because it is easy to read, the little Serifs (small strokes in the letters) make the typeface look formal and it is very neat. When i was experiment with the font, i also found out different fonts that looked similar. the out one are called Vani, Times New Roman and Georgia.

San Serif
There were three other font styles which  looked similar to San Serif. They are called Comic Sans, Arial and Trebuchet. I think these typeface would be good to use because it is very neat and clear, and easy to read. It letters look strong and bold which can be used to catch the client's attention which makes it great for communicating my company.

Script
This type of font looks very free hand. A couple of letters are joint together. eventhough its very clear and readable, I dont think its suitable for my company. It looks playful and childish, and this is not the type of messages that I'm trying to get across.

Monospaced

other fonts that looked similar to Monospaced were Consolas and Lucida Console.

Blackletter
three other font styles which I thought looked similar to this one which are called Old English Text MT and Algerian. I dont like this type face, and i dont think it work on my Business card. It is quiet hard to read and it might not attract the right audience. i want my business card to attract people that mean business and that are serious about their work. In my eyes it doesn't look serious.

Mimicry
I will not use this type face simply because who would understand it. even if there was someone that could understand it, the majority of the public wouldn't understand it and I'm trying to aim for a large audience.
